Reducing plates or flanges are compact reducers which can be sandwiched between any two fittings & easy reduction can be achieved in a tight space. They are commonly used in industrial & automotive applications where reduced friction is required. They are made from a variety of materials, including PTFE, FEP, PFA, PVDF, and others. Reducing plates or flanges reduce the friction between two fittings, reducing the amount of air resistance that prevents the flow of gas or liquid. Reducing plates or flanges can also reduce the pressure drop across the fitting.
