Industrial Pressure Reducing Station (PRDS) are devices that can reduce the pressure in a process chamber. They control the flow rate of liquids or gases, increase liquid and gas throughout, or reduce energy consumption. PRDSs can be used in virtually any process where pressure is a concern. They are commonly used in manufacturing processes such as oil refineries, paper mills, chemical plants, food processing facilities, and pharmaceutical and biotech production facilities.
There are two types of PRDSs: in-line and remote. In-line PRDSs is installed directly in a process line and typically include a check valve orifice that controls fluid flow. Remote PRDSs are usually installed in a control room and attached to sensors that monitor pressure levels.
